First things first!
Thank you so much for all of your kind words of encouragement over this past week, since the announcement of Home with Heather winning the Best of Harford Award!
Also, I truly appreciate that you enjoyed this post of my devotional published over at Club 31 Women.
I love being able to share both of my passions with you here on this blog and bounce between encouragement for your heart and inspiration for your home!
Thank you for appreciating both of my heart callings!
Also in fun news…
We had so much fun at our first ever Home Trends Social in our little downtown Main Street, Bel Air on Thursday night, where my dear friend Kim, who is a local realtor invited me to be a guest speaker at her event!

I shared a little Spring decor (which inspired today’s post) along with 5 Decorating Mistakes that I used to make and how to easily course correct them!
Everyone loved the event so much we are thinking about hosting another event!
And now today?
Today, we are keeping things short and sweet because we are about to have a house full of teenage girls and their parents (writing this on Friday night) to prep for going to the BIG middle school dance!!
This post will be short on words and long on pictures.
I have styled my kitchen island three ways for Spring and I am sharing with you all the pictures and exact or similar sources at the end of the post, so that you can get the look too!
Sound fun?

3 Easy Ways To Decorate Your Kitchen Island For Spring

I am going to give you a little hint as to what the key is to decorating your home for Spring.
There are FIVE examples of it, in the picture above.
Scroll back up.
Do you see the secret ingredient to Spring decor?
Yep.
You guessed it GREENERY!
Whether it is artificial or real stems.
Real or faux flowers in a vase, basket or pot.
You simply cannot go wrong with adding greenery and florals to your Spring home.
1. Decorate With Artificial Mini Cherry Blossoms & Use Baby Eggs As Vase Filler.

How fun is it to stick a few mini cherry blossom stems inside a clear vase filled with baby Easter eggs?
SO EASY!
One of the decorating tips that I shared at our Home Trends Social event, was this:
If you have to buy practical items, especially in the kitchen…
buy the prettiest version of it!

I did this exact thing, when buying these pretty new pink drinking glasses!
Practical and pretty!
My girls are so excited to actually use them for drinking and I am excited that they double as decor!
WIN! WIN!

I purchased the pretty pink glassware from our trip to IKEA two weeks ago, along with the cutting board.
The pink hand towels are linked at the bottom of this post and the gold bunnies are from Target Dollar Spot, I shared them a few weeks ago HERE in this post of “What I’m Loving Right Now.”

Here, I decided to do a little bunny swap.
If you know me, then you know I love bunnies and when the girls were babies, I decorated their nursery with bunnies.

I have had these white wash bunnies, since those infant days for our 3 girls, I have linked a similar bunny at the end of this post.

2. Decorate With Artificial Green Leaf Branches & A Round Tray

I shared these exact green stems at our Home Trends Social because I LOVE how they instantly wake up a room!
I ordered this set because they are a BARGAIN and beautiful!
This set is 5 stems for $35 which I love, because when I looked at similar stems from target, one stem from Target was $15!
These artificial stems are from Amazon, linked HERE.

Here are a few more artificial stems that are lovely:
HERE is another set of artificial stems:
This set of branches come in a pack of 2, so I would order two sets of these artificial branches.
Here is one more very similar style branch I recommend in order to get this same look.
I also have more artificial stems that I love linked HERE on my Amazon Storefront.

I love the height and scale that the artificial green branches bring to the kitchen, waking it up for SPRING!

Pro Tip:
Instead of bending the branches at the bottom to get the height you want, cut the faux branch stems off at the bottom!
First, place the branches in the vase. Then, remove and bend the branch where you think the height will be the best. Re-try the stem in the vase to be sure you have the height correct.
Now, you are ready to CUT the bottom of the branch off with trimming shears.
The dead give away to artificial stems, is when you can see through the vase and the branch stem ends are bent at the bottom.

3. Decorate With Multiple Bunches Of Greenery In Similar Vases

Did you know that you can “nest” vases side by side?

Nesting vases side by side, works best when you use two similar shaped and similar colored vases of varying heights.
In my case, I am using two clear vases in varying heights.

My sweet Dad brought me this bouquet of flowers to congratulate me on winning Best of Harford. 🙂
I love using a glass pitcher as a vase sometimes when I have a small bouquet.
You can also see that I am leaning on the hot tip I shared earlier, of buying practical items in the prettiest version, by using these rattan wrapped glassware that doubles as decor

I picked up the rattan wrapped drinking glasses last Spring in the Target dollar spot. Hopefully, they come back again this year!

There you have it friend! 3 simple ways to decorate your kitchen island for Spring
These small Spring vignettes would also work well as a Spring centerpiece on your dining room table!
I hope this post inspired you to bring in the greenery and florals…artificial or real – it actually doesn’t matter!
I say go with BOTH! 🙂

Living on a prayer,
Heather
