Looking for an easy DIY flower arrangement? Here are 3 ways to decorate your dining room, kitchen island and coffee table decor with flowers.
So glad that you connected with this post over the weekend about this idea of “Trying Softer.”
I started listening to the book, Trying Softer and I have to say I am finding it very enlightening and realizing this Trying Softer concept is not a one time AHA moment of transformation.
In the words of Trying Softer author, Aundi Kolber explains:
“Trying Softer is a one time event,
but a way we learn to be with ourselves.”

So far…for me?
Trying softer is what led me to getting into this.
Whenever life gets a little blurry, overwhelming, messy, stressful and difficult…
I tend to lean towards spending time by myself.
And also?
Engaging with tactile activities.
Yes.
If I really am committed to “Nurturing my soul this Spring“ and giving this trying softer instead of trying harder thing a go…
Well then…trying softer looks for me like, getting out of my head, stepping away from over functioning and instead?
Getting to work with my hands…instead of my head.
Working with my hands is what helps me to move the muscle of my brain into creating, thinking and functioning within a softer place to be and breathe.
Through this process of trying softer I am learning to live…and land more gently, more slowly…and it’s good friend.
It’s very good.
Therefore?
On Tuesday, I began the 30 minute rural ride towards my favorite Amish Greenhouse, just over the Maryland line and into Pennsylvania.
(I am often asked for the information of this special Amish greenhouse that will SAVE YOU HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS that you would normally spend at Home Depot on flowers and all the things.)
*I will share the information of my favorite local greenhouse in Pennsylvania, at the bottom of this post!
Yes, this is the time of year where I love to load up the car with ferns and flowers, all in preparation to decorate our backyard patio and front porch for Spring.
Need inspiration now?
You can see our front porch decorated last year for Spring HERE in this post.
Before I jumped into decorating the outside with all the flowers and ferns for this year…
I decided to spend some time decorating the inside of our house with freshly cut and potted flowers!
Today, on the blog I am sharing 3 easy ways to decorate with flowers and the BEST acrylic vase from Amazon that you are going to want to scoop up.
It is the easiest way to create a stunning table centerpiece for your next event, whether it be hosting Mother’s Day, a bridal shower, birthday party and beyond.
Today’s post is going to be long on pictures of inspiration and short on words.
Because?
I’m trying softer friends. 🙂
Which means…giving my brain take a break from all the blogging words. 🙂
Follow me friend…you are going to want to see these table decor ideas with flowers for your kitchen, dining table and coffee table decor!
3 Simple Ways To Decorate With Flowers
First things first friend.
This acrylic vase is THE BOMB.
Do people still say that I wonder?
Well, it would’t be the first time I held on to a trend too long. 🙂
It also happens to be on sale right now on Amazon.
You can see it here:
I should tell you that I have zero flower arranging experience. You do not have to be good with arranging flowers to make a stunning dining table centerpiece with this acrylic vase from Amazon.
Here is how the acrylic vase works:
I am so happy that we ordered two of these table vases for two reasons.
- One, because it is fun and satisfying to look at the picture below of the two vases side by side and realize that this acrylic rectangular vase with 24 holes in it can help ANYONE to create a truly amazing floral centerpiece! If I do say so myself! 🙂
- And two, because I can’t wait to double up during Christmas time to go BIG with creating a dining table centerpiece!
First, you start by sliding the acrylic top with the holes and pouring water into the rectangular vase.
Next, you start adding your flowers into the acrylic vase and cut the stems to the desired length.
- Pro Tip – While you can use grocery store bouquets for this flower arrangement, I found that my farm flower bouquet from the Amish Greenhouse had the variety of stems I needed to work with. The diversity of flowers and greenery made it so much easier to create the boho floral arrangement, I was hoping for.
- Looking for a local farm flower stand to pick up a bouquet?
- I highly recommend Joy In Hand Flower Farm in Harford County.
Once I started, I just kept filling in the holes with flowers and greenery until the holes were all full.
And pretty soon?
The acrylic rectangular vase began to become a beautiful dining table centerpiece.
I still find it totally wild and amazing that this centerpiece was created from this acrylic vase from Amazon!
I can’t wait to use this vase for entertaining on Mother’s Day!
Here are 2 MORE EASY ways to decorate with flowers inside your home.
1. Ceramic Flower Pot.
If you caught my Instagram or Facebook stories, then you already know that on my way home from the Amish Greenhouse, I popped into Walmart and picked up two of these 8″ white ceramic planters.
It looks like the 8″ size goes in and out of stock online, but you can click HERE to check your local store availability and do a curb side pick up. :). The 12″ is still in stock online.
I just love the fluted detail sides of this planter!
While at the greenhouse, I picked up two of these Diamond Pink Flower Pots and I planted them both into this white ceramic planter.
The second 8″ ceramic pot that I purchased, I decided to leave empty and makes for super cute shelf decor also, in the kitchen!
I love that this easy flower pot arrangement works in every room!

2. Woven Basket Of Flowers & Reindeer Moss.
These sweet ranunculus flowers were $1 EACH at my famous Amish Greenhouse!
I know.
Is anything really ever ONE DOLLAR anymore?
I scooped up all the pink ones and placed them into my favorite new woven basket from IKEA and tucked this reindeer moss around the side of the basket to fill in any gaps.
There you have it friend.
Three super simple ways to decorate with flowers on the inside of your home.
And guess what?
After all that working with my hands…my heart feels softer.
Thanks for being here friend.
My hope and prayer is that this blog…serves as your soft place to land every time you visit.
Living on a prayer,
Heather
