Love the look of hanging wall planters, but don’t know how to make them? Try this simple way to fill planters to create beautiful wall art.
I hope over the last few days you were able to take a knee, and lean into “What Is Holding You Up Right Now,” like we did after a sad week, by spending time, soaking in special moments with your favorite people.
Our family spent the last few days, riding waves, soaking in the sun…and searching for shells on our favorite beach.
Yes, can you believe that after this post on how to decorate with shells that I still have room to collect and display more shells?
You bet I do.
One evening, our family we went out to dinner with friends and their families…
Shawn and I thought we were slipping away for a minute to catch the sunset.
Little did we know?
Our middle daughter was following us, snapping pictures every few steps, like an undercover detective. 🙂
This restaurant pier is one of my favorite places to soak in a Summer sunset over the water.
And this sunset view right here, tells me…
Summer is here.
And, I am SO happy about that.
Something else I am happy about?
I am so happy with how our coastal powder room turned out.
And after sharing this post last week, of all the details on the finishing touches to our powder room accessories and decor…
It sounds like you are loving how this bathroom remodel turned out too.
One detail that I skipped over in the bathroom accessories and decor post, was how exactly we decorated these hanging wall planters, that we hung up in the powder room.
So, today I am sharing the quick and easy steps we took to fill and decorate this set of hanging wall planters.
I ordered this set of 3 wall planters from Wayfair.
They are also available in black.
These hanging wall planters are so pretty in person, lightweight and easy to hang!
While I would have loved using real plants in our powder room, this room does not have any windows, and does not receive any sunlight.
And so?
I needed to be realistic on what would work long-term.
I decided to go the faux floral route, using artificial plant picks from Michael’s.
Creating this wall art decor was so easy friends.
I knew as soon as we put these wall planters together, that I wanted to share these simple steps with you, in order to take out all of the guesswork in creating these planters, so you can make your own easily.
How To Decorate Hanging Wall Planters
1. Cut floral styrofoam to fit the shape of the planters.
We used this Flora Craft floral decorating styrofoam to cut and place inside the planters, in order to hold the faux plants into place.
2. Glue the Floral styrofoam into place, inside the wall planter.
3. Set and secure the floral styrofoam into the wall planter.
4. Add additional smaller pieces of the floral styrofoam to fill the planter.
5. Begin sticking the faux floral stems into the styrofoam.
6. Continue Adding Faux Plants to the Planters To Your Liking
7. Glue Reindeer Moss to the top of the floral styrofoam to fill in gaps between the faux plant stems
8. Hang the wall planter on the wall.
9. Step back & ENJOY the view of your new wall art decor!
Living on a prayer,
Heather
