Looking for an easy way to brighten your day? Here is a small thing you can do today that will make you feel good and a BIG home decor sale.
Happy Spring friend!
It’s here!
It’s finally here!
So glad you loved and connected with this post from over the weekend, about “How to nurture your soul this Spring (and slow down).”
Because while Spring is officially here according to the calendar, it might not feel like Spring, am I right?
Either when you look outside your window or really get brave and look inside the window of your heart, things still look a little barren.
A little cloudy and gray.
I get it.
That’s why I pray that the words inside this post are a gentle reminder that sometimes, simply acknowledging the little things can lead to a more positive outlook for the day ahead.
Whether it’s the beauty of a sunrise or the sound of Spring peepers at night.
Sometimes it’s the simple acknowledgement of those Spring sounds and sights….that help usher our heart closer to Spring and all of her promises.
Which is why I had to share this super quick and easy thing I did today.
Yes, today I am popping in to share this very (insert air quotes) important public service announcement. 🙂
And also?
Show you where we hung my new arched mirror from Target because I want you to know that if you love it too, it is on sale right now with Target Circle!
Yes, Target is having a home decor sale right now!
So, are you ready for the simple thing I did that is making Spring feel closer to my home and closer to my heart and also see the new mirror, now on sale at Target?

Acknowledging The Small Things & The Home Decor Sale You Need To Know About
It’s been a whirlwind few days!
Shawn and I took our oldest daughter Eve, to Richmond Virginia last weekend for her soccer team to participate in a big soccer tournament called Jefferson Cup.
In total aside news:
If I wasn’t already head over heels in love with my new sling bag that I shared HERE in this post, filled with my new Spring fashion finds…
this past weekend SEALED the DEAL!
I am loving this new sling bag!
It was so easy to wear on the go all weekend long!
From soccer sidelines to the hotel, car, restaurants and everywhere in between! I love that it has a zipper pouch big enough for my entire full size wallet to fit inside plus a small zipper pocket on the back for keys, lip gloss etc.
Such a great bag for running errands and being a busy Mom on the go – linked HERE!
In more exciting news?
Eve’s team won the tournament…AGAIN!!
Needless to say, we are all a little tired from the travel, returning home late on Sunday evening and then jumping back into work mode on Monday morning.
So, on Tuesday morning, when I needed to drive Livvy to her orthopedic appointment to have her cast removed on her now healed wrist… (happy dance for healing bodies!!)
I took the back roads instead of the highway…
And along the way I noticed something.
A very small bright spot dotting the roadways, as our car hummed along that half an hour trek each way.
The view outside of my windshield, was mostly painted with a very gray and barren view.
But every so often a bright yellow pack of simple Spring promises dotted the roadway.
Daffodils.
And so?
As soon as Livvy had her cast removed and I dropped her off to school?
I promptly drove directly to Home Depot, without passing Go & Collecting $200…🙂
I drove direct on a Daffodil mission and picked up a few small pots of those yellow happy Daffodils that I acknowledged blooming along the road, earlier in the day.
Once home, I set them on the kitchen counter, next to the flower pots that I have had for a few weeks now.
And then?
I decided to put the larger pot of daffodils inside the terracotta planter, I picked up from IKEA, a few weeks ago, and set it on the kitchen counter.
Front and center so I could enjoy her happy petals.
Then, I placed one of the smaller pots of daffodils inside a small gold pot from my favorite home store, Cocalico Creek and placed it on top of two coffee table books on the table that sits….drumroll….
In front of my new curved mirror from Target!
And now you know where we hung my new favorite mirror!
This wavy curved mirror is by Studio McGee and is in stock, online at Target.
Regularly, it is $75 which is a steal, but right now, Target is having a Home Decor Sale!
With Target Circle you can now shop Home Decor and Wall Art at 20% off!
I am loving this new little view!
Curved furniture and arched mirrors are a HOT HOT home decor trend right now, and I am thrilled with how this new arched wall mirror really dressed up this very small space.
Plus, I like to create what I call “Quiet Moments” of decor and sprinkle small vignettes like this one around spaces in our home…and this is exactly the “quiet moment” I love creating.
Simple, light and airy decor that welcomes the season we are craving.
Get the look:
Here, I have paired the mirror with a tall vase and my favorite artificial tree branches from Amazon that are now back in stock, inside a tall, narrow mouthed vase I have had for a long time.
Then added a small gold pot with the pot of daffodils that I was inspired to pick up at Home Depot, after acknowledging how happy the sight of them made me, while driving Livvy to the orthopedic appointment!
The gold pot is sitting on top of this book, A Home to Share, which is both beautiful on the inside and doubles as decor, when I am not perusing the pages, along with the Magnolia Homebody Book, another favorite home decor coffee table book.
In case you are wondering about the pinch pleat curtains hanging over the slider, they are my favorite faux linen curtains from Amazon linked HERE with this gold end cap curtain rod linked HERE and these gold curtain clip rings linked HERE.
The morale of the story?
The power of acknowledging the small things of beauty, tucked inside our days…
has a cascade effect on how we move through our days.
Today, it was the power of noticing the daffodils blooming on the side of the road and how their bright yellow pop of color lifted my heart in a way that made me look forward to the next yellow flower sighting along our route.
Dear friend, let’s make a pact to notice the beauty tucked into small things like road side blooms…and lean into them.
Because?
The power of the cascade effect it has on the outlook of our days is not to be dismissed. 🙂
