“This time next year” seems to be the phrase running my mind lately…wrestling with anticipatory grief of how much will change soon. But after this weekend and seeing our Evie fall in love with Flager all over again makes all the “this time next year” thoughts take a deep breath…we are SO proud of you Evie! Flager looks good on you!! Have to say it was fun to watch our girls out there together, Eve as a ‘27 commit and Maci as a ‘29 prospect. Perhaps you’re like me - and this Fall season is f

Perhaps you’re like me - and this Fall season is finding you in a space where your emotional volume is high.
Our Evie is a senior & I’m just now getting brave enough to let these senior portraits sink in.

I’m writing all about the beginning of this senior year season on the blog today, in an attempt to connect what my brain knows to what my heart is gradually grasping…with a hope that my head and heart will learn soon to keep up with a walking pace together…

Because? The days just keep stacking.

What I’m learning in this new to me season is -
It’s ok to grow into the time.
I’m leaning to hold time more open handed and gently as an act of love for my future mom heart.
When our girls were little, I used to want to squeeze my eyes shut, hit pause on my heart and grip tightly, out of fear of losing the moment, the feeling, the sense, the highs and the lows of the growing up clock.

But now I know.

No matter how tight the grip -
The time still slips through the cracks.
Time always finds a way to leave.

The seasons slip through your fingers like sand…the difference in what I’m learning in this new to me now time-

Once the sands slips through –

You don’t lose the sand.

You just hold the collected fine treasure grains in a different place.

Your heart.

Because?

Your heart will always hold what your hands no longer can hold the same.

And so?
I’m learning to let a season be just that – a deeply beautiful tender season without needing it to stay…
