Looking for simple Valentines day decorations? Here are super easy ways to decorate and cute gift ideas for valentines baskets for kids.
Hi friend!
Are you in need of a Pick Me Up!?
If yes…then you are in the right place friend!
Because today…
Today, we are trying something new!
Why?
Well because, you’re busy, I’m busy…LIFE is busy!
But, I still want to share all the good stuff going on and get these posts out to you twice a week!
So, in the interest of me being able to share more current information with you, and do it a little more quickly, I am going to offer up a shorter and more to the point post here and there.
This idea to give a little tweak to some of my posts by sharing in a more concise fashion, has come to me while I have been “getting down & getting low” – aka carving out the quiet in order to seek clarity for how I want to proceed in the year ahead and nurture (my word of the year) what I have already planted.
Think of today’s post, as more of a “Touch Base Tuesday” post.
A rapid fire post where I am popping in to share my most recent home decor or fashion finds, or perhaps a recent DIY decorating tip etc or in this case Valentines Day decorating inspiration.
These posts will be shared more in a rapid fire list fashion, in an effort to bring value to you and also help me become better at managing my time!
So today?
That’s what we’re doing!
Many of you have asked me if I decorate for Valentine’s Day.
And the truth is?
I kind of do a light scatter of hearts here and there and that’s about it.
In other words?
I like to keep Valentine’s Day decor simple, because I am still craving that fresh start of the new year.
So, if you’re wanting that “pick me up” feeling without all the clutter, you are in the right place!
Today, I am sharing the easy way I decorate for Valentine’s Day, plus the kid’s Valentine’s gift baskets I have started to put together for our girls.
Are you ready?
Let’s Go!
How To Decorate For Valentine’s Day (the easy way) Plus Valentine’s Baskets For Kids
Here is your 1-2-3 recipe for decorating for Valentine’s Day.
1.) Decorate your front porch with a new Valentine’s Day theme doormat.
I bought this LOVE natural doormat from Target and layered it with a natural doormat that I had on hand.
2. Put chocolate candy in a heart shaped bowl.
I picked up my cute wooden heart shaped bowl from a local shop in downtown Bel Air. If you’re local you NEED to go into The Nest On Main, Kathie has filled her shop with the cutest decor and gifts right now!
If you’re not local, HERE is a similar wooden heart shaped bowl, also Here and Here.
I also picked up these heart napkins and these heart napkins to put inside the girls lunch boxes and to have on hand for the next month, just because.
3. Place a new Valentine themed hand towel in the kitchen.
I picked this Love Birds Hand Towel up from Target. More hand towel options HERE and HERE.
4. Hang up a heart shaped wreath.
I have had this heart shaped wreath made with felt for several years. Here is a cute raffia heart shaped wreath. Here is the same raffia heart wreath in RED. And another cute heart wreath option HERE.
Apparently, I have collected a few heart shaped wreaths over the years.
This is what I meant when I said the way I decorate for Valentine’s day is, I scatter hearts here and there. 🙂
Here is another super cute heart shaped wreath from Amazon.
5. Light a pretty pink candle & enjoy your super simple Valentines day decorations.
I had the felt heart pennant from a few years, HERE is a similar mini Valentine pennant.
That’s it friend.
That’s my Valentines Day decorating story and I’m sticking to it.
Because we need more EASY in our lives, don’t we?!
And now…
Valentines Baskets For Kids! (the starting point)
While I was at Target picking up my new Valentines doormat and hand towel I wound up finding these super cute wire baskets along with these small Valentine pillows, in the Dollar Spot for the girls to use as their Valentines Day Gift Baskets.
Here are similar wire baskets if you can’t find the same ones that I found in the Dollar Spot at Target.
Here is a SUPER CUTE valentine’s pillow that would be perfect for a gift or valentine decor!
I will continue to pick smaller items up over the next few weeks to finish filling the baskets.
This, is what I have so far:
Three pairs of super soft Heart Socks, HERE, HERE and HERE.
This adorable Heart Mini Waffle Iron. (Maci is going to LOVE this!)
This Pink Fleece Sweatshirt. (For Eve)
These Ghirardeili Milk Chocolates in heart shaped box.
This heart tissue paper to layer inside the wire baskets from the Dollar Spot.
And the rest is to be continued!
Hope that this little post helped to pick you up and encourage you that decorating for Valentines doesn’t have to be complicated in order to bring a little light and love to your home!
Living on a prayer,
Heather
