Looking for ways to create a cozy bedroom for the Christmas season? Here is a teen girl bedroom decorated for Christmas with a coastal theme.
Have you started decorating for Christmas yet?
Me?
Well you already know the answer to that. 🙂
Hello cozy Christmas home office that I love working in every day.
I hope you found these 5 tips on how I begin decorating for Christmas, to be helpful.
I truly do believe that by following this easy system it will not only help you set the stage for Christmas magic…but you will also find that starting with a clean slate will help to make your life feel a little simpler and your home to feel a little lighter right now.
Because?
Let’s face it.
This time of year can be overwhelming.
So much to do.
So much on our minds.
So much to stay on top of.
So much.
And so?
Decorating our homes for the holiday does not need to be complicated, stressful or send us off the cliff into chaos.
Instead?
Simply start by decorating one room at a time, follow these 5 simple steps and work your way through your home as you feel inspired.
Speaking of inspiration?
Earlier this week my Mom and I took a drive to Lancaster, PA to pop into my favorite home decor and furnishing shop, Cocalico Creek.
I was thirsty for inspiration and I found it in droves at this shop.
So many beautiful and unique accessories just hopped into my cart!
And once we returned home?
I knew which room I wanted to decorate next for Christmas.
Eve’s coastal teen girl bedroom was next on my list for for creating Christmas magic!
Do you want to see how I created a cozy Christmas bedroom for my favorite teenager who loves lounging in her coastal theme bedroom?
Come and see!
Wait Until You See This Cozy Bedroom Decorated For Christmas
Now, if you have been around here for awhile, then you might remember back when I gave Eve a bedroom makeover for her birthday two years ago.
You can see the before and after pictures of her coastal theme bedroom makeover HERE in this post. Her teen girl bedroom makeover happens to by my number one pinned post of all time!
In fact, I received such an overwhelming response by reader’s on how much everyone enjoyed her bedroom makeover that I followed up on reader requests by writing this post on “How to decorate a coastal themed – beachy bedroom”
And now?
This teen girl bedroom is not only coastal but oh so cozy for Christmas.
But first…do you want to see something so cool?
(Do people still say “cool”?! I think I just dated myself back to high school senior year 1998 – Go Mustangs!)
Anywhoooo….
Take a look at this picture from April 2021, when I first gave Eve her bedroom makeover.
Fast forward to January 2022, when I shared my best tips on how to decorate and get the same look of this coastal bedroom vibe.
And now?
Notice anything?
Look at that plant!
Scroll back up my friend and look at how small that baby pothos plant was on the top shelf back in April 2021!
Talk about the one decorative element that has stood the test of time and GROWN UP over this last year and a half!
So, if you are in need of a LOW maintenance plant recommendation that makes for beautiful decor AND can go long periods without water (love you my sweet daughter)…
Now then…where were we?
Oh yes.
Creating a cozy Christmas bedroom.
We started with this pre-lit flocked pencil tree that I placed into a woven basket with a gray and white stripe.
You might recognize the basket, as I shared it previously, when I picked it up a few months ago from T.J. Maxx and used it outside, to decorate our Fall front porch by placing a mum inside of it.
Linking a similar basket HERE.
Eve got busy decorating her bedroom tree with coastal theme ornaments and used a starfish as her tree topper while I got busy hanging these paper star lanterns over her bed.
It looks like these exact star lanterns are nearly out of stock at IKEA, where I bought them.
However, you can order similar star lanterns HERE and HERE.
I used these small cup hooks and twisted them into the ceiling to hang the power cords from.
If you are looking for a way to dial up the Christmas cozy factor in any room…these lantern stars are one way to make an immediate impact that feels…magical.
I just love the way they make the room feel so special at night.
Eve likes to keep this long strand of fairy string lights up all year round, hung up with these mini command hooks.
And now…I think she just might leave these star lanterns up until Spring.
We hung one more paper lantern in the opposite corner, above her papasan chair next to that amazing plant. 🙂
Side Note:
I’ll be sharing my Gift Guides for Teen Girls and MORE right here next Tuesday, so be sure to keep your eye out for that! They are going to be GOOD!
In the meantime?
This papasan chair is a GREAT GIFT IDEA for a girl or boy, as it comes in both white and brown. Not only is it super comfy… it also swivels!
This is my favorite place to come and sit and just catch up with Evie while she is lounging on her bed.
One way I love to decorate for Christmas is by swapping out art prints, in our photo frames.
The adorable Christmas tree art print that is pictured above in this frame, is an instant downloadable PDF by Lindsay Letters.
You can get the tree download HERE .
Lindsay Letters printables are downloadable PDFs of 8×10 Art Prints, which makes it easy for you to have and use for your own home decor as well as give the gift of art in a pinch (instantly) to a friend!
Lindsay Letters has so many beautiful NEW art prints and canvases on her website for the Christmas season.
I currently have this sugar house art print and this wintry lamp post scene in my shopping cart (waiting for her Black Friday sale).
Last but not least…
I finished off decorating the floating shelves (we have two of the 36″) and white desk with a few natural colored bottle brush trees, a pair of woven baskets (IKEA), glass jars filled with fake snow and shells from Sanibel Island and mini LED globe string lights I picked up at Cocalico Creek, while I was there.
Here are similar globe fairy lights on Amazon and HERE is another set of globe string lights from Walmart.
Some of the bottle brush trees are ones I have had from previous years, however I am linking a bunch of similar trees and Christmas decor at the bottom of this post.
P.S. This glass jewelry box is another great gift idea for your girls. 🙂
Ok friend.
That’s a Cozy Christmas Bedroom with a Coastal Theme wrap!
I hope you are feeling all kinds of inspo to create your next cozy Christmas space in your home.
Remember…take your time and enjoy the moment you are in right now.
