Looking for Christmas shelf decor and inspiration to decorate a home office or den? Here is a home office decorated for the holiday season.
It’s me.
Hi.
I’m the problem.
It’s me.
Isn’t that how the song lyrics go?
I can’t help myself friend!
I started decorating for Christmas!
Sorry not sorry!
Truthfully, I had not started decorating for Christmas until…
Until, I decorated the window storefront of John’s Men’s Clothing Boutique earlier this week.
Side note – if you are local and have a man on your list to shop for…you must pop into John’s in downtown Bel Air. They are packed with the best staples for every man on your list!
I had the BEST time creating a cozy and welcoming window for their boutique. You can see a fun clip of the decorating process HERE on Instagram or HERE on facebook.
Anywho…
I had so much fun decorating their storefront that I knew I was ready to slowly start decorating at home.
I have a system for how I prefer to slowly start decorating for Christmas.
I like to refer to it as, setting the stage for Christmas magic.
Yes, there is a method to my madness, that I will be sharing with you, right here on Tuesday. So be sure to meet me back here on Tuesday, for my 5 best tips on how to create the foundation for a cozy Christmas.
But for now?
Here’s a little spoiler.
I concentrate on decorating one room at a time.
Honestly?
It’s simply less stressful this way.
And this year?
I started with my new home office that Shawn created for me, with our first ever IKEA hack.
You probably remember this post, where I went into detail on how Shawn transformed 3 Billy Bookcases from IKEA and built me the built-in bookshelves of my dreams.
You also might remember this post, where I decorated the shelves and shared 5 Simple Tips On How To Decorate Built-In Bookshelves.
When I began to restyle the built-in bookshelves this week and and decorate them for Christmas…
I realized something.
I never showed you the final home office reveal!
So friend, today you get a two for one…a fun photo tour of my new home office layout…(still waiting on the swivel accent chairs) and the first room in our home, all dressed up for Christmas.
Are you ready?
Me too…let’s go!
Wait Until You See This Home Office Decorated For Christmas
Now friend, because I know you are busy and I am busy.
This post is quite simply a photo tour of my home office decorated for Christmas. For your convenience, I have linked all of the new shelf and room decor at the bottom of this post.
Most of the decor in this room is from Target!
Starting with these cypress and juniper wreaths!
I had already ordered this velvet ribbon and it was just what this pair of wreaths needed, in order to give them that little extra touch, before I hung them on the bookshelves with these command hooks.
Once the wreaths were hung, I began to style the shelves with all the things!
I picked up a variety of new decorative trees and I am just loving the look of the tree collection, like this set of white ceramic trees and this taller matching ceramic tree.
Also loving this metal gold star pictured above.
One way that I love to decorate for Christmas is through art prints.
You can see above that I have swapped out the art prints in my favorite gold floating frame for a wintry scene.
My favorite framed art of course is this watercolor painting of my childhood home.
Don’t you just love this brass nutcracker?!
Speaking of childhood homes…
This painting on this wall was my Grandmother’s…and my Mom grew up with it hanging on the walls of her childhood home.
In fact?
Below is a picture of my Mom at age 5, sitting next to her two brothers…and right above them?
Is this painting.
Just one of those things that is making me smile right now…
I thought maybe it would make you smile too. 🙂
P.S – My Studio McGee ceramic table lamp just came back in stock at Target…you can get it HERE but hurry!
The flocked table top trees on my console table are linked HERE and HERE.
The gold star on a stand is HERE and the burgundy mini bottle brush trees HERE and HERE.
One of my favorite new trees is this marble glass tree, pictured on the bottom shelf next to this trinket box.
Loving that you can place an LED candle inside of this glass tree. I have the short version, however it is also available in a taller version HERE.
Also loving the shape of this tree and this smaller tree, on the top shelf.
Of course you know I had to add a strand of LED fairy lights for that extra twinkle on my desk.
There you have it friend!
Christmas magic in my new home office!
Still loving my new area rug that continues to make this home office makeover feel just right.
