Looking for pretty kitchen decorating ideas for Spring? Discover Spring kitchen decor with new Target finds to style your counters, floating shelves, and more.

I popped into Target yesterday.
In case you didn’t know?
I speak fluent Target.

Maybe you speak Target too?
If so, you are going to love this post.
Just wait until you see how I styled these new Target finds!
Also?
Yesterday was National flower day!
It just so happened, that I accidentally celebrated, by picking up a few new Spring flowers, plants and flower pot planters and had so much fun restyling our floating shelves in our kitchen!

Did you know that this little space in our kitchen used to be our pantry?
Here is a throw back to 2011 when Eve was 2 years old and our sweet Sadee Mae was her very close side kick and BFF.

They are standing in front the bi fold doors that we removed, when we decided to convert our pantry into a space that was more efficient for us.
And below is another throw back picture of this pantry, when Maci (AKA “screamer”) came onto the scene and the only way I could get anything accomplished around the house, was to put her into this jumparoo bouncy seat!
If you have ever met Maci then you know! 🙂

You can see that my “work desk” was pushed into the pantry, next to the dog food container and right below the Chef Boyardee! 🙂
Eventually, Maci stopped screaming and I moved my desk into the dining room and claimed that as my home office…
That’s when we decided to fully gut the pantry and turn it into a pretty space that could also serve as a beverage station when entertaining guests.

You can see more of this pantry conversion along with the entire rest of our DIY kitchen remodel, with all of our best money saving tips on how to remodel a kitchen on a budget HERE in this post.
Today, on the blog I am sharing how I styled this kitchen nook for Spring using this new Hultrap wall rail from IKEA, that we just hung up, below the lowest DIY floating shelf.

Aside: You can get all of the details on how we saved a TON of money by making our own kitchen floating shelves HERE in this post.
Plus, it turns out, you can pick up a super similar S hook wall rack from Target by Hearth & Hand with Magnolia line right now HERE.
(Remember I speak fluent Target.)
Now, are you ready to see more of how I styled this kitchen space, formerly known as the cloffice and jumping baby pantry…for Spring?
Don’t worry, I have everything from Target linked at the end of this blog post for easy duplication and shopping!

Wait Until You See This Spring Kitchen Decor
Before I started styling, and this is very important. 🙂
I always clear away EVERYTHING before I allow myself to begin styling.
Scroll back up and notice how the kitchen nook is EMPTY and all decor has been cleared away!
I firmly believe that this is a critical step in refreshing any space or room.
You already know that I picked up a few new plants and flower pots, that I wanted to use in the restyling of this space.
In my shopping around town, I found this pretty lady at T.J. Maxx for 9.99 and my cart simply insisted on having her!

So, I popped into our local plant store on the way home and picked up this cutie plant and wound up splitting her into two plants.
I also used a plastic plant liner, pictured above and cut a hole in the bottom so that the plant will be able to drain, inside my Grecian lady friend.

Styling My Spring Shelves with Fresh Florals
After I had all of my flowers situated into their new planter pot homes.
I started to style my floating shelves and the console table that serves as our beverage station area, when we are entertaining friends.
Below is an “in progress” pic, where you will see I started styling the space using the larger items first.

Natural Wicker Table Lamp // Scallop Fluted Ceramic Planter Pot // Wicker Indoor Outdoor Lantern // Similar S Hook Wall Rack //Round Wooden Serving Paddle
I love how the pink Hydrangea, from Home Depot fills the scallop fluted planter pot with color and screams Spring!!
Pro Tip: I did give it a little “boost” by flipping a Tupperware container upside down, so that the flower pot did not sink down too low in the fluted pot.

Easy DIY Wall Art Idea
Want to know a secret about the framed wall art pictured above?
I cut that picture out from a Magazine!

Yep.
I have shared this “free” way to decorate your home many times before.
But in case you missed it.
I have a subscription to the Magnolia Journal magazine and I use it all the time to cut out pages and then use the page for seasonal wall art decor!

Not only do I love the pictures in the Magnolia Journal but I love the stories and the words of inspiration you will find.
My Mom gave me this Magnolia Journal subscription to me for Mother’s Day a few years ago and I look forward to their quarterly delivery and savor the pages!
After I had the new wicker lamp, larger flower pots and framed art in place, I started adding in smaller layers to the shelves and console table.

Adding Warmth with Lighting & Texture
The small linen hand towel was my Grandmother’s and I love that I have a place to display it now, without actually using it.
I could not be happier with how this S hook wall rail provides such a great opportunity to add depth texture and interest to the back of the wall now!

The wall hooks and rail would also be a great way to display coffee mugs for a coffee station area too!
I am also loving the addition of the soft glow of the new wicker table lamp on the console table and the lanterns on the bottom shelf of the table.

While Shawn did install recessed lighting in the ceiling inside the nook, I always prefer the softness of lamps and lanterns over overhead lighting!

I also love using a strand of mini globe string lights laid across the bottom shelf for extra whimsy and glow.

And there you have it friend.
A once upon a time pantry…

Converted to a more effective space…

And styled for Spring!

I just love the view from our kitchen counter stools now…

Don’t you?
That’s a Spring Kitchen decor wrap friend! 🙂

A Little Life Update Before I Go
I’ll be hopping off the blog for a bit now, as our family is going to take the week to spend some QT together, while the girls are on Spring Break from school.
So, while you won’t receive a blog post from me next weekend…
Because it also happens to be Eve’s birthday on March 30th.
Yes, that little girl from the picture earlier, with the puppy hat on standing next to her big puppy…
Well that little girl is growing up and she is turning 15 next Saturday!

Did I mention how proud we are of her for being the only Freshman to make the Varsity soccer team!
I am a proud Momma of this girl for so, so many reasons…which is why I won’t be popping into your email inbox next weekend. Because we will be busy celebrating all the things!
But, I can’t wait to reunite with you in two weeks, in April with more Spring inspiration…in the form of Spring porch decor & more!

Wishing you and yours a blessed Easter!
He is Risen!
He is Risen Indeed!
Living on a prayer,
Heather
