Looking for affordable Spring fashion finds? Here are my new favorites from Target, a sling bag purse, and the start to our bedroom makeover!
Hi friend!
Did you survive Daylight Savings Monday if you are like us and live in a state that springs forward an hour?
Happy to say that we did survive but now we have one Krout down with Strep throat. 🙁
Thankfully, we were able to get to the doctor today and Maci is already on her antibiotics and perking up!
Keeping this super short and simple today as the day has gotten away from us but I do have some fun new things to share!!
So glad you loved this post from over the weekend of our newly decorated picture ledge gallery wall!! I hopped on my Instagram and Facebook stories today to share a little up close view of the wall, you can catch the snippets here.
After Shawn installed this board and batten wall in the living room…we both decided we would love to do a similar version in our master bedroom upstairs, which has been neglected for a long time!
And so?
While I commuted back and forth this weekend to Virginia, to watch our Maci play in a soccer tournament…
Shawn stayed back home to work on a little project..
in the form of starting our master bedroom makeover. 🙂
Today on the blog, I am sharing a little bit of this and that…
Including what this bedroom wall looks like now, (it looks SO GOOD!) as well as my new Spring fashion finds from Target, that I am wearing on repeat.
Plus the cutest new short sleeve pink top and this amazing guitar strap sling bag that I found over the weekend.
…because you know there is always time for shopping in between soccer games. 🙂
Sound fun?
Follow me friend!
Let’s go see what the bedroom wall looks like now, find out what color we are painting our bedroom, the simple white T-shirt you need in your life, along with a few pretty and affordable Spring fashion finds you can wear anywhere and everywhere!
We Started Our Bedroom Makeover, Favorite NEW Target Fashion & More
First things first!
Are you excited to see Shawn’s progress on this bedroom wall and the start to our bedroom makeover?
This picture of our bedroom wall is from 2020.
Remember, this is a no judgement zone! 🙂
I have to give it to my guy…he works really hard and does amazing things!
We dismantled the leaning shelves almost a year ago, knowing that our bedroom makeover was one of the projects on our list in 2023.
We have had this blue color on our bedroom walls for the last ten years.
And now?
Now, we are ready for a change and our bedroom has finally made it to the top of the project list this year!
Shawn kept sending me text messages while I was at the soccer tournament, updating me on his progress…so I am going to share the order of his texts of his progress on our bedroom makeover.
I love how he commissioned some tiny hands to help remove the existing chair rail. 🙂
Then, he made some vertical markings on the wall, based on his spacing using the layout calculator that he used when he installed the board and batten on the living room wall, HERE in this post.
For this board and batten wall, I wanted the look to be different from the living room wall.
We decided to do a skinny, floor to ceiling board and batten wall.
In order to get the look we were going for, we used skinnier board planks and spaced the planks closer together.
We went with 2″ planks spaced approximately 14″ apart…
And then Shawn painted…and now?
Our bedroom wall looks like this!
The color I chose to paint the bedroom is Boothbay Gray by Benjamin Moore in an eggshell finish.
I think it’s a great beginning start to our master bedroom makeover!
Don’t worry!
I will keep you updated as we make progress on our bedroom makeover.
We already know that we our going to have to take our time with this project and break it into chunks…and I think going into a project with that mindset is important.
There is no need to rush.
We have waited this long!
We can work on it as time and our schedule allows and enjoy the process of re-thinking the room as we go! 🙂
Now…while this wall is empty of furniture?
It’s a great temporary space to snap some pics of the new Spring clothing I am loving and wearing on repeat!
Target Fashion….Here we go!
This is the White T-shirt that you need in your life right now! So easy and so comfy!
Plus these are still my go-to favorite joggers of all time. I am wearing a size small in the black joggers and small in the T-shirt.
P.S. My favorite artificial branch stems from Amazon are back in stock right now HERE– hurry!! They are pictured behind me on the kitchen counter, you only need 1 pack of 5 stems! 🙂
I digress…
I am loving this boxy white T-shirt! (Wearing size small T-Shirt.)
Also available in gray, black, striped and more!
I am wearing this white cotton stretch body suit (size medium) underneath my white T-shirt because it is a bit see through.
Even better?
This new white T-shirt goes with all of the new pants I bought from Target!
Did I mention that I am breaking up with skinny jeans?
It’s true.
I am doing it.
It’s not them…it’s me. 🙂
I never loved them anyway!
So, because I am breaking up with skinny jeans, I need some new pants!! 🙂
The pink pants I am wearing above are sold out in magenta. However, here they are available in pink, black and cream.
I love these high rise tapered pants so much, I have them in black also.
How about that cutie patootie new guitar stray sling bag?
I have only had this bag for 48 hours and I am wondering why I waited so long to hop on the sling bag trend!?!
While we were in Virginia, Maci and snuck into Tyson’s Corner Mall with our friends to do a little shopping and I was so excited to see the store Altar’d State in the mall!!
I have only known Altar’d State to be in Kentucky and would always make a point to pop into the store, when we visited our family.
We popped into this adorable store and that is when I found this cute pink guitar strap bag!
I have been wanting one for awhile, but never found one with a strap I loved…until now!
It’s large enough to fit my full size wallet and has two zippered compartments and a front compartment. I used it today while running Maci to the doctor and getting her prescription and it is so comfortable to wear!
In not surprising news…I love pink.
Which is why when I spotted this super cute puff sleeve top, it hopped into my hands.
Paired it with this pair of black cropped pants from Target and these ballet flats in Chestnut, also from Target.
Remember that white T-shirt that goes with everything?
Loving these new blue high rise, pin tuck ankle pants from Target!
They make me feel like Spring really will come soon! 🙂
O.K. friend!
That’s a random wrap up of all the things happening right now!
I hope you enjoyed seeing the start to what will eventually be a full bedroom makeover along with affordable fun finds to welcome Spring into your wardrobe!
Living on a prayer,
Heather
