Here is a list of reader’s favorite and most popular home decor items and more, shared in 2022. Full of inspiration to refresh your home now.
Have you ever been awakened in the middle of the night to a not so good situation?
That was us.
Last night.
We woke up to a water leak.
Thankfully, our middle daughter’s bedroom is in the basement and she was alerted to the sound of water dripping from her ceiling, and came to wake us up.
The water line for the ice maker in our refrigerator burst and leaked onto the main floor and down into the basement.
But?
As my Mom always says and taught me:
“If this is the worst thing that happens, we’re doing O.K.!”
This mantra is coming in handy today, just like it did that time when I took our girls mini golfing and wound up getting hit in the face by Maci’s Tiger Woods golf swing, resulting in stitches.
Fun times?
No.
Could it be worse?
Yes, indeeed.
Now, moving on to more fun things to discuss, while all the wet towels dry! 🙂
Like all the things that you bought and loved the most in 2022, that I shared here on Home with Heather!
Curious to know what they are?
I was too!
Similar to how I was surprised as to what the “Most Popular Home Decorating Posts” were for 2022 and what your “Favorite Posts of Encouragement & More” were…this list also has me surprised!
After I ran the numbers, and saw the results of your favorite items that I have recommended here, over the last year, it did make me realize how much you do ask me about all of them!
It’s a mix of all the things!
There are home decor items, mirrors, organizing items, fashion and rugs.
You love rugs!
Me too! 🙂
Are you ready to see what the Top Ten Reader’s Favorite Things of 2022 were…hopefully it will help spark some inspiration for that fresh start during the new year, we are all seeming to crave right now!

What Did You Buy & Love? Top 10 Reader’s Favorite Things
10. Living Room Rug
Coming in number 10 is this Living Room Rug from Home Depot.
I originally shared this new blue are rug HERE in this post, when I shared a few new things I was loving in my wardrobe at the time.
I had to share it then with you, because this rug is SO much prettier in real life, than when you look at in online.
I love that the general Oriental style of the area rug is not overwhelming.
It’s just enough to offer interest without being busy.
You can see more pictures of the rug HERE in this post of our Living Room decorated for Christmas.
Here she is at number nine, this warm gold minimalistic floor lamp with empire shade.
You might remember that in the Fall, from this post, when I decorated our mantel with pampas grass, using chicken wire, I had this floor lamp placed next to the fireplace, behind the chair I found on the side of the road.
Side note: Want to know “How to Decorate Your Home For Free?“
I just gave you one of the ways.
Pick up stuff off the side of the road that other people see as trash, like I did HERE with this old chair.
It’s crazy to me, the furniture people put out for the trash men.
I shared the story of how I found that old chair (which turned out to be worth a lot of money actually) along with 7 more ways to decorate your home for free, HERE in this post.
Back to this floor lamp you love.
She’s a staple.
If you had a “capsule wardrobe,” for home decor, this lamp would be an essential part of the capsule wardrobe for your room.
Place her in anywhere and she lights up the room.
Get it?
See what I did there?
She’s a lamp…so she lights up.
Ha! 🙂
Don’t tell my girls that I just typed that. They will be so embarrassed that I was trying to be funny. 🙂
Once, we moved the Christmas tree into the corner, next to the fireplace, I wound up moving this floor lamp into the living room, behind the sofa.
It’s official.
We all love it here and love the socket pull chain for quick and easy lighting, when we are all winding down here on the sofa, in the evening.
I first shared these Zella Joggers as something new I was loving back in August, HERE in this post of “What I’m Loving Right Now” along with my home office area rug, that I am standing on in the picture above.
I also shared the shoe organizer hack that I created myself, for organizing all of our medicine bottles etc.
So, if you are in home organizing mode, then you will want to see that shoe organizer / linen closet and medicine cabinet organizing hack HERE in this post.
But really?
These are my favorite pair of pants.
I know, calling them pants is a stretch.
But still.
They are the perfect addition to my wardrobe and if I could get away with wearing them every day, I would.
Turns out you would too, as they are the 8th most popular item you bought off my recommendations last year.
7. This Loloi Kitchen Rug from Amazon
I bought and shared this rug before Christmas, as I was prepping our home for the Holiday Home Tour that we were invited to be a part of.
Loloi rugs have officially become my favorite brand in area rugs.
They are affordable and always are SO much prettier in person, than they appear online.
This kitchen runner is from Amazon, I ordered it in the gray / apricot color and I love how the neutral colors play so well with our DIY coastal kitchen island.
I am so glad that you wound up loving it as much as I do!
P.S. You need these stick on rug grippers in your life!
These are the best rug pad grippers to keep your kitchen runner and area rugs in place!!
I shared that I had bought this garland, back in the early Fall when I was starting to plan for my Christmas mantle decor.
I wound up ordering 4 strands of this garland and used them to decorate our entry way mirror and staircase by layering in with the other Christmas garland I had bought from Afloral.
Turns out that you ordered a bunch of this also to decorate for Christmas.
The good news?
You can keep using this eucalyptus garland all year long!
It’s the perfect touch of greenery to use to decorate for Spring tables and mantles.
Stay tuned for how I plan to use this garland to start decorating for Spring!
When I first started blogging in the Spring of 2020, I shared this post on how we updated our master bathroom on a budget, by painting the vanity cabinets, updating the hardware and swapping out the vanity mirrors for these contemporary gold then metal mirrors.
It was a fun covid project that gave our master bathroom the refresh it needed. You can see the before & after pictures of the budget bathroom makeover HERE.
And then?
I shared an update on how the painted cabinets in the master bathroom were holding up over one year later, HERE in this post.
Turns out?
The painted cabinets in our master bathroom are still holding out in amazing painted fashion and you also still love this budget bathroom makeover with these budget friendly vanity mirrors.
Even better?
I just noticed that they are on SALE right now HERE!
When Eve turned 12, I gave her a coastal bedroom makeover.
You can see all of the details of her teen girl bedroom makeover HERE in this post.
Turns out?
I love this chair as much as you do.
This is really “my chair.”
Because, when I come into Evie’s bedroom at night to chat…I love to sit criss cross applesauce in this papasan swivel chair and relax as she unwinds and gets ready for bed.
If you love the decor in Eve’s teen girl bedroom and this overall beachy bedroom aesthetic, I wrote an entire blog post on “How to decorate a coastal theme, beachy bedroom” HERE in this post.
This papasan swivel chair has held up against the test of time, is super comfy, large enough for adults and the perfect accent chair to a coastal theme room. (It is also available in brown.)
I originally shared these new black outdoor light fixtures HERE in this post of the Fall edition of “What I’m Loving Right Now.”
These light fixtures are from Lowes and are very affordable, also they are available in two different sizes.
We purchased them in the 18″ and they are perfect for our front porch and on either side of our garage door.
I shared this set of amber glass dish soap dispensers back in February last year, as part of this post of “What I’m Loving Right Now” Winter edition, along with this bamboo palm pot scrub brush and these clear drawer organizers, that helped us to organize drawers in Eve’s desk and our bathroom.
Who knew we all wanted pretty dish soap bottles so much!?
My girlfriends all tease me because I do not use my dishwasher.
That’s a topic for another day.
But old habits die hard and I have a habit of hand washing our dishes.
And these pretty hand soap dispensers make the job and the view just a little more…pretty.
Turns out, according to the numbers, you also love to have a pretty dish soap dispenser in your bathroom.
Because, you also loved and ordered this white ceramic and gold soap dispenser that I shared HERE in our Coastal Powder Room remodel.
Last but not least?
The number one thing you loved and ordered the most last year?
I originally shared these pinch pleat faux linen curtains back in March, when I gave our living room a refresh for Spring HERE in this post.
I wound up loving these curtains so much that I bought another set and hung the exact same curtains up in the dining room, above our sliding glass door.
You can sneak a peek of the most recent set of these curtains in the picture below from this post, at Christmas.
When I hung these semi sheer curtains up in our dining room, I used this gold drapery curtain rod and these warm gold curtain clip rings.
You can also easily shop this curtain combination along with more of your favorite home decor from Amazon HERE on my Amazon Storefront.
Honorable mentions go to…
The two home decor items that are helping us to not be depressed now that the Christmas tree is gone!
These LED flameless taper candles and this faux olive tree from the Studio McGee line at Target!
You loved both of these home decor items last year A LOT and they are what is keeping our cozy living room vibes going after Christmas!
Along with the Wintry art prints from Lindsay Letters and the living room wall decor!
All of the above is helping us to not be depressed after we have de-Christmas’ed!
O.K!
That’s a favorite things wrap friend!
