Need a pick me up? Here is a round of what I’m loving right now. Favorite new throw blanket, bedroom refresh, paint color, fire pit & MORE.
To all the people who told us that we should wrap Eve in bubble wrap?
You. Were. Right.
Our biggest kiddo hurt her ankle playing soccer and now we are waiting on Xray results.
But, as we have learned over and over again recently..
This too shall pass.
And sometimes a forced rest is exactly what we need.
Evie is taking it in stride and we are praying it’s nothing too serious!
Thank you for all of your kind words and messages of encouragement since this post!
In case you missed it, last week I was honored to be the guest speaker at a local church for their women’s brunch.
And?
There is a nudge happening here.
And if you know anything about me, then you already know…
I listen to those nudges. (This blog was one of those nudges.) 😉
So- I’m following the breadcrumbs God is leaving for me and excited to share more of my heart in a fresh new way, beyond the Heather Krout blog!!
I shared more of how this first speaking engagement came to be and why I’m excited to welcome MORE opportunities like this HERE in this recent post.
You can also catch quick clips on my Reels, HERE on Instagram and Facebook.
Thank you for your love and encouragement and I continue to step into…
More of Me.

What I’m Loving Right Now – May Pick Me Up
For Starters…
I am loving our new gas fire pit from Walmart!
You already know that I am LOVING our new wicker patio sofa and set of swivel chairs from Walmart.
And I really didn’t think out patio furniture set up could get any better…
Until?
Until, we added this low profile, rectangular gas fire pit.
I am loving this fire pit because it is lower than our old gas fire pit and works perfectly in front of the new wicker sofa and swivel chairs.
And now?
Since we have added this new fire pit to our outdoor patio furniture set up…the girls all want to come out on the patio every night and sit by the fire. 🙂
(This fire pit also comes with a tall side table, to store the propane tank inside.)
Adding this new fire pit has quickly made this outdoor space…our favorite place to be, when we are home.
Even when the girls all go inside…someone likes to linger. 🙂
I am loving outdoor decor and flower trellises!
Last weekend, while driving Livvy to a lacrosse game, along the way, I noticed this trellis built on to the side of this office building.
So on the way home, I told her I needed to pull over so that I could take a picture.
Why?
Because, in exciting news…I am LOVING the fact that I have Shawn 99% on board with…getting a hot tub!!! 🙂
And while I don’t have the hot tub picked out yet…my mind is already racing with ideas on how I can decorate the side of our house and make the space beautiful. :
Which is why this built in metal trellis caught my eye from the road.
The trellis naked right now, but even without flowers and vines climbing it, I still think it is a beautiful way to add character and dimension to an otherwise boring wall of siding.
Which leads me to the next thing I am loving right now!
I am loving FRIENDLY PEOPLE!
When I pulled over the car to snap a photo of the trellis, the owner of the building was outside working on the flower beds and I complimented him on his trellis and then asked him what the variety of hot pink flowers were growing next to the trellis.
He informed me that they are a rare variety of peonies – my favorite flower!!
And then, he offered to snip a few blooms for me to take home!
If I never would have slowed down the pace of the day to stop and savor a scene that I found to be lovely…or some would call it…stop to smell the roses…I never would have received such a kind gesture from the building’s owner.
And now?
I have fresh flowers on my desk that I added to a mason jar of flowers that were just about dead.
New life!
It’s always amazing to me how fresh flowers added into a space instantly add energy and freshness to awaken a space and keep it from feeling stale.
So friend, I highly recommend we stop and smell the flowers more often this Spring…and then do yourself a favor and bring the beauty inside.
It will help yow slow your roll and your mind and body will benefit.
The funny thing about the peonies that the friendly stranger shared with me is, once we pulled into our driveway at home?
My own peony flower bush had one single bloom that had just opened up…like a fresh welcome home message!
And now…
More have bloomed and so of course, I brought a bouquet inside to brighten up the living room too!
If you’re eyeing up those frames on our DIY board and batten wall with a picture ledge…then you are going to love this news.
I am loving that Target has a SALE on Picture Frames right now!
SALE ENDS TODAY, Saturday, May 13th at 11:59 PST
Hurry the sale ends today!
While the large poster frames we have displayed on our picture ledge are no longer in stock, my favorite natural colored frames, pictured below and linked HERE, are part of the Buy One, Get One 50% Off Sale that is ending tonight at midnight.
So, if you need to update a few picture frames, now is the time!
We used three of these natural picture frames in size 11×14 with an 8×10 opening and added these coastal beach prints from Etsy, to decorate Eve’s coastal bedroom, here in this post.
If you need a small drink table to use as night stand, we love this shaker drink table, also from Target’s Hearth & Hand line.
I am loving the progress of our Master Bedroom Refresh!
You might remember from this post, that earlier this year, we decided to slowly start working on our master bedroom update.
First, Shawn removed the chair rail and installed board and batten on this accent wall and painted it Boothbay Gray by Benjamin Moore.
And now he has been busy working on this wall, behind our bed.
He had to break the project up and stretch it over a few weekends in order to get it done…
But the end result has been worth it!
I am loving how this skinny board and batten style, helps to create texture and dimension on this large wall!
Don’t worry!
We are not leaving this wall blue! 🙂
Which leads me to the next…What I am loving right now item on my list…
I am loving the Paint Color, Pure White by Sherwin Williams!
We decided to paint the majority of the walls in our bedroom, Pure White by Sherwin Williams and both Shawn and I are LOVING the immediate crispness this color adds to our bedroom!
It feels as if the entire room just let out a giant exhale!
I haven’t even started to re-decorate the room yet!
As you can see from the naked window and missing baseboard, we are far from finished with this master bedroom refresh.
But?
I am loving celebrating progress along the way of a project or process!
I know it’s easy to fall into the trap of always wanting to “skip to the good part,” as they say.
But, I am learning to lean into celebrating the progress more and more.
Because, I think it’s important to slow down and appreciate the small steps of progress that take place along the way of getting to a better place.
Speaking of works in progress?
Our bedding is a work in progress right now.
But?
I am currently LOVING this new chunky knit throw blanket from Target!
This chunky knit throw blanket is super soft, is available in 7 different colors (I have the natural color) and is BIG!
We have a King size bed, but I purchased the blanket in a Full / Queen size blanket and it is plenty big enough to stretch across the bottom of our bed, to create that cozy, layered look.
While I don’t have the rest of the bedding puzzle quite yet figured out, I am eyeing up this Pottery Barn Dupe, cross stitch quilt from Walmart in either white or taupe.
Kind of leaning towards the quilt in taupe…because I love that you can see the cross stitch detail a little more.
I am loving this mindset training that my friend is offering to young athletes.
Shawn and I hired women’s lacrosse coach and mindset mentor, Nikki Murphy for a one-on-one mindset session with Maci, as she works through her injury and this forced time away from playing the sports that she loves.
What I love about this mindset mentorship is that Nikki offers young athletes a safe space to share with someone other than their parents, coaches or teammates.
We also recently hosted a team bonding night in our garage, AKA Shawn’s Man Cave 🙂 with Nikki to present a mental mindset workshop to our daughter’s club lacrosse team over an evening of pizza!
I highly recommend this type of mental mindset coaching for our young athletes.
You can find our more about Nikki and her personal coaching services HERE.
You can see more of the garage man cave HERE in this post.
Last but not least?
I am loving that my Mom ordered this plaque, celebrating my Home with Heather business, winning the Best of Harford Award.
Wasn’t that so sweet?
My Mom is the BEST.
Dear reader, thank you for being here.
Thank you for reading these words and sharing in this creative journey with me.
Sending you so much love and appreciation.
Living on a prayer,
Heather
