I am so glad you loved this post from last week.
No matter where you are finding yourself lately…I am glad to hear that so many of you connected with these words.
We have had the most beautiful, sun-filled week here in Maryland!!
I am so grateful that all those rainy April showers really did bring us May flowers!

And now that the calendar has flipped to May?
Mother’s Day is just around the corner!
In fact, yes this is a friendly little reminder for all of us, that Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 11th!
This past week I spent some time shopping for my own amazing Mom at Target and thought it would be fun to share with you exactly what I am gifting my Mom this year along with some EXTRA great gift ideas for the Mom’s in your life.
But first?
Some of my favorite pictures of my amazing Mom and me. 🙂

The truth is?
I have the BEST.
Our family has been spoiled by her love for years and on Mother’s Day especially….
I want her to feel all our love right back.

What Moms Really Want For Mother’s Day
Today on the blog I am sharing with you the Mother’s Day gifts I am gifting to my Mom along with more gift ideas for anyone who has been like a Mom in your life.
Because here’s what you need to know about Mother’s Day gifts.
We don’t need the latest and greatest or anything super crazy, different or expensive.
Nope.
In fact, what us Mom’s really want is really quite simple.
Most of us Moms really just want –
A hug.
And if you want extra credit?
A short handwritten note reminding her that you appreciate her, goes a long way.
And maybe just maybe….if you want to go that extra mile?
A bag or tote filled with small items that we use everyday, that could use a refresh.
In other words?
We don’t need big, flashy and fancy.
We just need a hug.
The handwritten note is a big win bonus.
And that tote bag filled with goodies we use everyday, but that we won’t necessarily treat ourselves to a new version?
Well that doesn’t hurt. 🙂
Wink wink.
Make sense?
Oh good.

Now, let’s get to those gift ideas for Mom that she will absolutely love receiving next Sunday for Mother’s Day, everything is linked at the bottom of this post!
Except for the HUG – you are in charge of that!
Oh and I will share where to get those adorable fabric flower totes too!

What Moms Really Want For Mother’s Day

Now, what do I mean by the things we use everyday that could use a refresh?
I mean the literal things we use every day.
A new purse or wallet.
A new pair of sandals.
A fresh bottle of hand soap and pretty new hand towel.
A seasonal candle.
A new pair of sunnies for Summer.
A fresh pair of pajamas in our favorite color.
Just a fresh new version of items we touch and use every single day.
You get the idea.
Here’s what I am gifting my Mom with this year for Mother’s Day from Target.
(I also picked a few items up from HomeSense also that I will link similar versions of from Amazon)

Whenever I need to prepare a gift for a female friend, I love to make the “gift bag” part of the actual gift itself.
Which is why I love to purchase a tote bag or purse and then find smaller items to fill up the bag with!
I also love adding fresh flowers sticking out of the bag, which just makes the gift look extra pretty and feminine.
In this case, I found these fabric flower market totes from Target for $10 and will gift one to my Mom alongside her purse filled with goodies!

In order to use real flowers in the tote, I used a small mason jar, filled with water and placed it inside the bottom of the fabric tote…

And then, I added the tulips to the water filled jar at the bottom of the tote bag.

I actually wound up loving how two of these striped fabric totes look paired together with real tulips, in our entryway!
