Looking for Mother’s Day gift ideas? Here is the best tip on how to know what to buy and where to buy the best gifts for Mom.
So glad you loved this front porch decor post from last weekend!
We have been spending tons of time outside on the patio and front porch and loving every minute!
And now that the weather has warmed up and the calendar has flipped to May…it always reminds me that-
Mother’s Day is not far away!!
In fact, yes this is a friendly little reminder for all of us, that Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 12th!
This past week I spent some time shopping for my own amazing Mom at Target and thought it would be fun to share with you exactly what I am gifting my Mom this year along with some EXTRA great gift ideas for the Mom’s in your life.
And just for fun?
Here are two of my favorite pictures of my Mom being the best Mom in the entire world.
Today on the blog I am sharing with you the Mother’s Day gifts I am gifting to my Mom along with more gift ideas for anyone who has been like a Mom in your life.
Because here’s what you need to know about Mother’s Day gifts.
It doesn’t need to be complicated.
We don’t need the latest and greatest or anything super crazy, different or expensive.
Nope.
In fact we usually just need 3 things.
A hug.
A handwritten note.
And perhaps a bag filled with small items that we use everyday that could use a refresh.
In other words?
We don’t need big, flashy and fancy.
We need the hug, the handwritten note and maybe just maybe a fresh version of the things we use everyday, but that we won’t necessarily buy for ourselves.
Make sense?
Oh good.
Now, let’s get to those gift ideas for Mom that she will absolutely love receiving next Sunday for Mother’s Day, everything is linked at the bottom of this post!
Except for the HUG – you are in charge of that! 🙂

What You Need To Know About Mother’s Day Gifts
What do I mean by the things we use everyday that could use a refresh?
I mean the literal things we use every day.
A new purse.
A new pair of sandals.
A fresh bottle of hand soap.
A seasonal candle.
A bottle of hand soap or a fresh hand towel.
You get the idea.
Here’s what I am gifting my Mom with this year for Mother’s Day from Target.
(I also picked a few items up from HomeSense also that I will link similar versions of from Amazon)
Caned Tote Handbag // Travel Makeup Bag // Memory Foam Buckle Slide Sandals // Natural Slide Sandals // Sea Salt Caramels // Beach Scented Jar Candle // Chamomile & Lavender Tea // Lavender Bar Soap // Lavender Rosemary Hand Soap // Striped Beach Towel // Chunky Knit Throw Pictured Here
Whenever I need to prepare a gift for a female friend, I love to make the gift bag part of the actual gift itself.
Which is why I love to purchase a tote bag or purse and then find smaller items to fill up the bag with and then once it is filled, I tie a big ribbon through the handles in order to help keep the bag tight and secure, with all of the goodies!
Doing this makes for a pretty presentation too! 🙂
Here is my Mom’s Mother’s Day gift all stuffed and ready to go!
Pro Tip: Use stuffing from the shoe boxes, extra paper or bubble wrap to stuff at the bottom of the tote bag or purse to give the purse structure and a boost of height for adding all of the smaller gifts inside. Then, start by adding the largest gift items first and finally sprinkle with crinkle cut paper and top with a bow!
I also love topping the gift purse off with a bouquet of fresh farm flowers – just adds a little extra movement and thoughtfulness to the gift package!
I picked my bouquet of hellebores up at my friend Carolyn’s flower farm, Joy in Hand Flower farm – be sure to check her out if you are local, she does easy pick up at her farm stand!
Another gift idea from Target is picking up this beautiful ceramic fluted planter and placing a flower pot inside it.
This flower pot is available in 3 sizes and would make a perfect a hostess gift too!
Ceramic Planter Pot // Round Wooden Paddle Board // Indoor Outdoor Wicker Lanterns // Wicker Table Lamp
I love how mine looks inside in our kitchen nook and it works so well because it comes with the saucer at the bottom for easy indoor use!
Last but not least…
