Hi friend!
I know…I know….
I technically signed off from the blog just last week, HERE in this post.
And I am truly taking July and August off from writing here, just to give my brain a brief blogging break.
But?
The thing is…
Next week is the Fourth of July!!
And earlier this week I popped onto Instagram stories to remind everyone that they do not need all the red white and blue things that all of the stores are loaded with right now, just begging you to take them home.
Nope.
You only need these 2 things to create a festive home for the Fourth of July.
Here’s a hint…

- Flags
- Flowers.
Yes.
That’s it friend.
Flags and flowers are all you need to give your home a Fourth of July home decorating hug!
And if you are like me?
You might add in a sea shell here and there…

Because well just because shells and a decorating essential in Summertime in my humble decorating opinion. 🙂
You might remember from this post HERE, two weeks ago, that my Summer mantra is to savor this sacred time…which means we are embracing two things:
Slower and lighter.
Keeping things light and easy is critical to our Summer success around our home.

Which is why I love cutting flowers from our yard and using them to decorate all over the house.
And then?
I simply add a flag and call it done and done!

And if you don’t have fresh flowers in your backyard?
Ask a neighbor if you can give their flowers a haircut! 🙂
Or?
Order these beautiful tulips from Amazon!

I love how these white tulips feel fresh and easy.
Add an American stick flag and you are done!

Pro Tip: I also love to use what we already have around the house, like stacking a red and blue book on top of each other and of course adding a shell as a book topper.
Truly, in the midst of Summer mode, the name of the game is making it easy when it comes to decorating for the Fourth of July.
There are so many ways to incorporate small flags that add that pop and patriotism we love to embrace around here in Summer…
Below are 11 ways I have added American flags around our home…
- Add flags to a row of glass bottles or string a banner in an unexpected way.
