Happy March friend!
First thing’s first!
Thank you so much for all of your kind words and the congratulatory messages you have sent my way this past week, since the announcement of my interior styling business, Home with Heather being named as Harford’s BEST interior decorator for the second year in a row!! 😮
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/home-with-heather-best-of-harford-2024-683x1024.png)
This March will mark my third year in business since the launch of Home with Heather, from my kitchen island in 2021 and it’s been one of the biggest and blurriest blessings to date!
A genuine leap of faith from the get go…and I still look back and am in awe of God’s provision and guidance.
To say that I am truly overcome with deep gratitude would be a gross understatement. It is a true honor to simply be nominated & recognized within a group of such inspiring designers and peers, all whom I truly admire!
I founded Home with Heather in the core belief that the more we create thriving spaces to live and work, the more we help to support and nurture thriving people and hearts, inside those spaces.

THIS is what is important to me!
Helping YOU love your spaces, so that in turn, you can help support and serve YOUR people to be their best.
So, thank you for inviting me into your inboxes every week and allowing me the privilege to absorb moments of your precious and valuable time.
And, thank you Home with Heather interior decorating clients for inviting me into your homes (virtually and in person), and into your amazing businesses over this last year to come beside you and help you…
Get UN-stuck from what to do with a room, rethink the layout of your spaces, rearrange furniture for a more effective flow, select & decide paint colors, choose flooring, tile & everything else, get fresh inspiration & new ideas, be your personal shopper & stylist to pick out all the things and place them in order to finally finish off that space and pull the room together…
And SO much MORE!!!
My heart is SO GRATEFUL for YOU!! Thank you, thank you for your business!
Also?
I truly appreciate that you enjoyed this message, that I shared here last week, that was also published at Club 31 Women.
I love being able to share both of my creative passions with you here on this blog and bounce between encouragement for your heart and inspiration for your home!
THANK YOU!!
Now, to switch gears!!
Who is ready for Spring!?
The bunnies have started to hop their way up from the basement and I have been delighting, yes actually enjoying some Spring cleaning around here!
Yes, this is the time of year when I really love to purge and organize!
While the days can be a little dreary here in Maryland…I find myself reaching for basic things that I can do inside to make life…well lighter.
Like last Saturday, when I got busy organizing our school supply drawer! 🙂
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5515-1024x768.jpg)
Because?
What I find is that this time of year, when the weather can be wonky and so can our moods…
Sometimes it is helpful to bring focus towards the smallest things that are going the right way…
Do you have tiny details of your day that you are appreciating right now?
Well, today on the blog, I am sharing a quick list of all the things I am currently loving, in this latest edition of “What I’m Loving Right Now!”
Like this amazing Winter Tortellini Soup recipe from my friend Leslie.
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/winter-tortelinni-soup-768x1024.jpg)
These are the smallest and most random tid bits of life, products, decorating hacks, mantras, inspiration etc that are helping me to move in the right direction, within the real streets and sidewalks moments of the day to day.
Today’s blog post is filled with the best recipe for cold dreary days, my favorite new fashion sneakers and no show socks, affordable new home decor for Spring and a podcast episode that I have listened to not once, not twice…but three times….because it really hit for me.
And so much more good stuff that might be just what you need right now!
Are you ready for a round up of what to love right now as we move forward in March together?

I am loving this Winter Tortellini Soup
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5604-768x1024.jpg)
My friend Leslie is a blogger and when she shared this post of her 5 favorite soup recipes I knew I had to make this Winter Tortellini soup!
It was the perfect pick me up on a cold and rainy day.
Maci helped me make it and we had so much fun working together in the kitchen. My girl loves to chop!
But when Maci put on a pair of Shawn’s sunglasses to help her eyes not water while chopping the onions, I had to break the news that that tactic was probably not going to work! 🙂
Yes, loving this Winter tortellini soup, it’s that good and that comforting right now.
I am loving adding touches of Spring with bunnies, old and new!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5640-768x1024.jpg)
You can find these gold bunnies at the Target dollar section again this year and I just love mixing them in with my more vintage Flopsie, Mopsie & Cottontail bunny figurine!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_7377.jpg-768x1024.webp)
Do you remember when we made this pampas grass Spring wreath exactly two years ago now?
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5642-768x1024.jpg)
You can get the step by step tutorial on how to make this bunny tail pampas grass Spring wreath and the supply list HERE in this post.
I am loving my new fashion sneakers and no show socks!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5621-768x1024.jpg)
I don’t know about you…but my weekend wardrobe relies heavily on sneakers. 🙂
And with Spring lacrosse season just around the corner, I knew it was time for a fresh pair of sneaks to accompany me to all of those games that are currently absorbing the future of my weekends. I am not complaining one bit.
We love watching our girls do their thing! And I’m loving that I have these cute Esplar sneakers by Veja to look forward to wearing!
They are more splurgy than what I would typically spend but I know they will be worth it, especially when you do the girl math of cost per wear as my friend Julie always reminds me to calculate!
Also LOVING these no show socks from Amazon!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5623-768x1024.jpg)
I live with 3 sock stealers so I am HIDING these no show socks where I also keep my good shampoo!
Because nothing is safe when you live with 3 teen and tween girls!! HA!
I am loving this podcast episode: “The Liturgy of Lightheartedness”
I listen to the Next Right Thing podcast by Emily P Freeman every week.
The episodes are typically short, approximately 20 minutes long and every time, the message shared often leaves me in a thoughtful posture of needed reflection.
I wrote about being “lighthearted” 2 years ago HERE in this post, “The little mantra that is making a big difference.”
And it’s likely that I loved this podcast episode so much, because this idea of lightheartedness is an area that I struggle with.
The words shared in this episode, “The Liturgy of Lightheartedness,” spoke to me, especially when it touched on the topic of “caring too much” in relation to parenting.
Anyone else struggle with this?
The specific nugget that stayed with me, is the posture that is inspired by this scripture taken from the Message version of the Bible.
“Live care free with God, He is most careful with you.” 1 Peter 5:7 The Message
Emily goes on to expand in the episode –
“This is an outcome of having a high Christology. The belief that the life of Christ can and does make an actual difference in my actual life. The action is living like it’s true. Living like I am not alone even though I walk through valleys of shadows. The action is loving my kids, and caring about what’s going on in their lives and making sure they are safe to the degree that I am able to do so. And the action is choosing not to over care today and choosing not to over function today. I can just regular care and regular function today, and leave the rest to God.” – Emily P. Freeman
Emily goes on in the short episode to describe a helpful imaginative form of prayer and how she is using it as she prays for her children. I have already started to adopt the imaginative form of prayer as I pray for Eve, Maci and Livvy and it has helped to settle my soul.
I loved this episode so much, I have listened to it all the way through three times. If you are in the habit of over caring or over functioning, perhaps this episode of The Next Right Thing, is just what you need right now.
I am loving these realistic looking faux tulips!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5655-768x1024.jpg)
(I will explain the plastic straws in just a minute!)
But first can we admire just how realistic and pretty these artificial tulips are!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/realistic-looking-tulips-768x1024.jpg)
I picked up two bundles of these white tulips from Kirkland’s and I love how they brighten up my desk in my home office.
Another option for amazingly realistic artificial tulips, are these Amazon best selling tulips, to the tune of over 20,000 ratings!!
These Amazon faux tulips, are available in every shade you can imagine and come as a set of 20 stems for under $20!
Now about those plastic straws pictured above with the tulips…
I am loving this flower arranging hack using plastic straws!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5659-768x1024.jpg)
My friend, KariAnne shared this genius flower arranging hack HERE on her blog this past week!
Instead of dealing with this…
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5658-768x1024.jpg)
You simply feed the stem of the tulip inside the plastic straw and voila!
You have a longer stem to help place and arrange the tulips with varying heights to create more movement and a beautiful display!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/currenlty-loving-spring-decor-768x1024.jpg)
Thank you KariAnne for sharing this post of genius with us for flower arranging!
I am loving these floral velvet pillow covers from IKEA!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5666_jpg-768x1024.jpg)
Yes IKEA!!
You can score some fab finds this time of year at IKEA to spruce up your spaces for Spring. Loving these floral velvet pillow covers that have added just the right amount of whimsy that I was craving in my home office!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/home-with-heather-interior-decorator-bel-air-maryland-1-768x1024.jpg)
Pro Tip: Purchase the 20×20 pillow covers from IKEA and then order THESE best selling throw pillow inserts from Amazon. These down feather pillow inserts will make your throw pillow covers look high end. *I always go up one size in the insert! For example, I bought 20×20 pillow covers from IKEA and ordered size 22×22 in the insert from Amazon for a full and fluffy elevated look!
I am loving the wall decor on sale at Target right now!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5496-768x1024.jpg)
I am wrapping up Maci’s bedroom makeover and I can’t wait to reveal it here on the blog in the next few weeks!
In the meantime, I have been working on the finishing details and I picked up this set of two framed floral posters from Target last week.
The best part is that this set of two floral wall art is on sale online right now for $40!
Also very excited about this arched pin board for Maci’s bedroom!
I am loving using magazine pages to update my seasonal art!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5233-768x1024.jpg)
You may remember when I shared my Christmas home tour post that I had cut this Winter scene out from a page in the Magnolia Journal Magazine that I subscribe to.
I just swapped this Winter art out for a Spring magazine page! Such an easy (and free) way to refresh your space for Spring!
I am loving cream blushes!
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5650-768x1024.jpg)
Here’s the thing.
Teen girls know all the things when it comes to what the best makeup products are.
If you have teen girls than you already know! 🙂
Here I was, old Mom still using a cracked compact of blush when my daughter Eve walked into my bathroom and said “Here Mom, you need this.”
She handed me this Revolution Blush Bomb Cream Blusher in color Savage Coral and I was AMAZED!
Girls, if you are not using cream blush yet…this is a game changer.
I am pretty sure I am the last woman on the planet who was still using a powder compact of blush, but just in case I am not.
Cream blush is where it’s at girls!
I also love this cream blush by MERIT that I received at Christmas with This “Weekday Set”
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_3992-768x1024.jpg)
But with this Blush Bomb Cream Blusher that Eve gave to me, you literally only need to DOT your cheek and rub it in gently with you hand, it is SO EASY!
Last but not least…
I am loving this dog.
![](https://heatherkrout.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/IMG_5653-768x1024.jpg)
She’s my buddy. 🙂
Our day to day life can be filled with a lot of hustle and bustle.
When I am darting here and there and running our 3 girls to all the places, our Willa pup will often accompany me in shot gun for the duration of all of my übering duties.
The thing I am loving right now about our dog is this.
Sometimes when my head is swirling with all the things…
All I have to do is reach over and gently pat her back, rubbing my fingers through her fur, while her head strains out the window to catch the wind…and my heart begins to feel…more calm.
The silence of the drive accompanied by the simple repetitive motion of petting her fur…as she happily keeps me company, has a way of soothing me into simplicity…even when things feel and are…a touch chaotic.
Sometimes it’s the littlest things..that help a lot.
Ok friend! I hope you enjoyed this edition of What I’m Loving Right Now!
Linking the products I am loving right now at the bottom of this post!
Living on a prayer,
Heather

So much inspiration here! I’ve been down the podcast bunny hole this morning…still using the powdered blush, so there’s that to update…but my heart is so happy that you made the winter tortellini soup with Maci! I may have laughed out loud with the sunglasses! Bless her heart! Thank you for sharing, sweet friend!
Aww thank you Leslie for sharing your delicious soup recipe!! You are the BEST!!! XO
Sweet little Willa! I’ve always said our pups give us something we never knew we were missing!🐶♥️
